Anyone else out there wondering whether we will see a Driver release later on this year? I am keen on upgrading from my 913D3 and would love to have one in the bag for a late September trip to St Andrews. I wonder if it will be a revised TSR or a totally new model.

If history is any indication, Titleist has released drivers/fairways every two years towards the end of the year. That would mean we would see some "tour seeding" around August which would give us a good idea on what they will look like.

Late September will be pushing your luck. The official release dat has been the first week of October, although fittings may start as early as mid-July. Some will be shipped earlier, so that’s where luck or timing comes into play. Pre-orders online will only be promised for the release date. If you can find a fitting by the Titleist sponsored fitters, the orders for the generation 3 irons were the ones delivered early.

The next line of metalwoods will be a new release with a new designation. It almost certainly won’t be a drastic change like going to a carbon fiber face. Notice they still sell the 620 blades. They won’t rebadge a club if it isn’t an improvement.

No one from the metalwoods group will be releasing information here that doesn’t also get posted in the public domain. As much as we wish we got more inside information. Your best source of information will be how many contract and non-contract players adopt the new model when seeded around June. The TSi flew into bags replacing the TS model - and other brands for non-contract players.

You should be able to decide by end of June to go with TSR or wait and possibly take the 913 to Scotland if the next TS series driver doesn’t arrive in time.

Same. I’m anxiously awaiting. I am looking at switching to. TSr from my TSi (which has been awesome), but I want to see what the new release is before making any decision.

I just hope it doesn’t have the word “Max” in it. That word connotes the need for extra help, which makes me feel bad about my play.

I’ll probably end up waiting until 2026 and buy one used like I always do. I tried the TSR2 and fell back to my TSI2. Such a great driver paired with a Diamana 60g stiff shaft from my old 915D2.

Nope. Most drivers sold are still titanium face. Titleist has a proprietary titanium alloy. “Finally” just to follow TM? Never.

Not sure. I toured the Carlsbad plant last year and talked to the R&D Engineers. They actually do durability testing on all other brands and the composite heads they were testing did not meet Titleist minimum quality standards so unless Titleist can improve on those methods, there will likely not be a carbon version unless they offer it in the "game improvement" category only. We will just have to wait and see. They are pretty good at keeping secrets.

I hope they don't. I played competitive slow pitch softball for years and almost all of my carbon bats would fail compression really fast. They got hotter but you couldn't use them in tournaments. Several of the guys would break/crack them if the temps were too low. Carbon breaks down too fast and gets brittle in the cold. Those of us up north that play year around would need a new driver every year. Oops, I just gave the sales team an idea. LOL

I played competitive slow pitch for over 26 years and retired in the mid 80s, when I realized golf and softball do not blend very well. We played league and traveled on the weekends. What rush. Played slow and fast in the military. The game has changed so much. We use to bang the walls all day long and no limit on the home runs.
No use for high tech bats now. Started with white ash bottleneck wooden bats, boy you could drive them a mile. Great memories of a great game. We played Wilson red dot ball for one year that was so hot that a few players were killed from impact and were outlawed. Had some awesome teams out of NC. Those guys were pretty much pros. They were paid by the companies they represented to play. They were paid employees. ha..ha..ha.. Just a moment in time, when you mentioned slow pitch. Good information on the carbon bats. Maybe someday we maybe just go back to wooden drivers with high tech inserts. Just sayin'. Those blonde drivers were beautiful.

I doubt it. I’m actually hoping the change will be in the size of the driver, and that it will be reduced. While I play the TSR driver now, my previous drivers were the png 400 LST and 425 LST, which were 445 in size. I liked that size better. With the momentum behind mini drivers, a club which intrigues me, a smaller Titleist main driver might be a way to forestall that momentum and carve out an interesting niche in the marketplace.

My Titleist fitter told me today that he can start fitting for GT drivers and fairways on July 8.

My Titleist rep implied/suggested a likely late-summer release, though gave no specific launch dates. He usually gives me the skinny on upcoming Titleist releases, but so far, has been tight-lipped about the new metals. For now, my TSR driver is perfectly fine, but the comments/hints my rep has made about the new designs has made me veeeerry curious.

The new driver will be released to the pros at the Memorial and then released to the rest of us in the early fall.

That is the typical pattern over the recent years as part of their two year cycle.

I'll be at the Memorial. I'll have to park myself at one of the tee boxes and see if I can get a look.

The Titleist fitters in my area are headed to Dallas? Texas on June 10, 11 and 12 to get introduced to the new line of Drivers and Woods. Fittings for Titleist staffers will being soon after. Team Titleist Members will get fitted on August 1. Pre-orders for the new drivers and woods also begin on August 1.

Keep an eye on the USGA List of Conforming Drivers in the next couple of weeks since Tour Seeding will begin soon.

I’m hearing there’s a mini driver in test mode on the tour already to compete with the TM mini. Just had a driver fitting but holding out to see if a new release is a decent improvement or better off with deals on current models. Im hearing driver release is August/September. Fingers crossed this is correct.

I would say that the reason Titleist provided a few of their pros with the "mini-driver" was not to compete with another company but to give some of their tour players the option of that club versus the TSR2+ club currently offered. The TSR2+ is available now, in the retail market and does the same thing as the mini driver with a little more versatility for use off the fairways. The non production mini driver does have weight options on the sole and back where as the TSR2+ only has the sole weight. There is no guarantee that the next generation drivers/fairways will include a mini-driver so keep an eye out and know the TSR2+ is still a good option for a controlled tee club that can work from the fairway too.

See how they play out. Am still hitting the TSI3 with success. Passed on the TS and TSR. With the right shaft combination, might make the jump this time. Hakuna matata.
