This is cool. The red plastic has a translucent look to it, which makes me think it would be cool to light from the inside. Even cooler if it was Glow In The Dark plastic with UV LEDs inside. I don’t know if that would actually work like I’m picturing, though.
It's not translucent. Just lighting in the photo makes it look like that. It's opaque red ABS.

"A few weeks" could be anywhere from 3 to... 9? Longer if we are talking about hpi but thays a whole other thing.
And for "cheaper than that" responding to a guess at price of $450.
So we could be at 9 weeks and $449?
We should be shipping in a few weeks (deliberately vague). I dont want to give dates yet just in case of unforeseen delays. We are working on the product page now.

Traxxas TRX-4 Sport 1/10 Scale Trail Rock Crawler Assembly Kit selling at $280, so my guess hopefully not more than $350"thumbsup"
The SSD kit is has CNC machined Aluminum/Steel/Titanium parts inside. Not a mostly plastic kit like the large manufacturers. So you are not being realistic at all.

What would the axle width be? Same width as scx10.2?

This waiting is killing me!! We could atleast use some more teasing pics!!! I don't like spending money but this looks like a good investment for the future, of the hobby of coarse! :lmao: My boss lady might disagree though.

Would been nice with adjustable width, like on the Ascender axles. Scx width is just a little to much for many of the hardbodies out there.

I prefer buttonhead screws to hold the transmission together (less obtrusive usually), didn't have anything else to add, waiting for SSD to release more pics! :lmao:"thumbsup"
Well you could always get some locked up rc scale bolts as a option

I generally use button head screws for everything but with the transmission using M2.5 screws, going cap heads there means most of the truck can be built with only a 2 mm driver.

I really think $450 usd might be a little on the high side, for the kit to really sell well. But I suppose we have to wait for the final specs before juding.
