Tom Platz is a bodybuilding legend who had a well-known leg training style that revolved around punishing high rep squat sets. T

here can be no question of his influence on the sport of bodybuilding and the way in which those wishing to become bodybuilders go about their business.

Early Profession and Breakthrough

It was the late 1970s and Tom Platz had just stepped foot into Gold's Gym in California, deeply at the initial stages of his many bodybuilding ventures.

His commitment to the sport translated into frequent triumphs in major contests and put him in the top echelon of participants at the Mr. Olympia events throughout the 1980s.

The Legend of High Rep Squats

Not so much for Platz was a renowned training style, most significantly his brutal take on high rep squats.

This feat of being able to squat 250 pounds for a mind-blowing ten minutes, as well as his incredible leg development put him in the bodybuilding hall of fame.
