Types of Uniform Pants
Tactical Pants - Tactical pants are similar in style to cargo pants, but built from extremely rugged fabrics and materials. They feature specialized pockets for smart organization, plus swift, easy access to essential gear that you wont find in a pair of ordinary pants.
Theyre also designed to offer the versatility needed for casual, everyday wear or a more uniform appearance all while handling the rough and tumble of being on duty. You can find tactical cargo pants in overt or covert styles and in a vast array of colors such as black, khaki, MultiCam and more styles.
Uniform Pants - Approved uniform pants are divided into three classifications: Class A, Class B or Class C. The classification worn will depend on your department, your job and the environment.
- Class A Uniform Pants: These pants are reserved for formal attire and consist of dark wool or wool-blend fabric. Theyre meant to be worn during ceremonies, receptions, funeral services or other public events.
- Class B Uniform Pants: This classification allows for a more casual/duty style that maintains a tailored appearance with additional tactical features. Theyre commonly worn during patrols and active duty work.
- Class C Uniform Pants: These pants are designed with a focus on comfort and mobility. They take on a less tailored appearance with an athletic cut and are worn in intense situations by specialized operators such as SWAT teams and K9 units.
Bike Patrol Pants - Bike patrol pants are designed with lightweight, stretchy and breathable fabrics to provide street patrol officers with the comfort and mobility they need to move around in warmer weather.

Combat Pants - Combat pants are designed to help tactical operators and military personnel adapt to intense environments. Theyre built to withstand the rigors of active duty and battlefield operations, plus they come packed with a suite of features that enhance performance and mobility.
Combat pants will most commonly include drawstring leg ties, seat and knee reinforcements, a gusseted crotch, knee pad pockets, moisture-wicking fabric, etc. Theyre also available in a variety of styles including BDU pants, ADU pants, ACU pants, OCP pants, and TDU pants.
EMS Pants - EMS pants are the most crucial part of an EMT/paramedics uniform. Theyre designed with specialized pockets for holding specific types of medical gear such as a tourniquet, IFAK kit, stethoscope, shears, etc.
EMT pants are typically made with reinforced knees, a gusseted crotch and a stretchable/adjustable waistband to handle all the different positions EMTs commonly find themselves in while responding to the scene of an accident. Youll also find many EMS pants made from ripstop fabric with a liquid/stain-resistant treatment to outlast years of use.
FR Pants - FR, which stands for Flame Resistant, is a special type of thermal protection designed to resist ignition when exposed to an open flame and wont continue to burn once the source of the ignition is removed.
These work pants are especially beneficial around fatal threats such as electrical arcs, flash fires and combustible dust explosions. Its important to note that some of these threats may require different levels of flame-resistance. Youll find that the majority of our FR pants selection is made from Nomex material and meets NFPA 1975 station uniform standards.
Tactical Jeans - This style takes tactical pants to the next level with an ultra-low-profile appearance. Tactical jeans are designed with all the same great features as tactical pants but in a more casual manner. Most tactical blue jeans are made from heavy-duty denim that will stretch in all the right places and has multiple pockets and utility features.
They also come bar-tacked at all major stress points, have reinforced stitching with felled seams and a gusseted seat for mobility. You can find tactical jeans in a variety of styles as well, including the classic fit, straight leg or relaxed fit.
