Yacht Charter in Majorca: Explore the Mediterranean Paradise with Luxury and Style | Arthaud Yachting (2024)

Here’s what not to miss in Majorca!

As you might have guessed, there’s a lot to do in Majorca. If you can’t stay there very long, there are two cities to visit: Palma and Alcúdia. The archipelago’s largest island is also home to some fabulous beaches that are not to be missed.

These include Platja des Coll Baix, a crescent of fine sand at the foot of majestic cliffs, Platja d’Es Trenc, a vast beach of dazzling white sand (beware, the beach welcomes nudists) and Cala Tuent, set in a discreet, secluded cove. With a yacht charter in Mallorca, you can easily reach these two spots.

Where are the best places to eat and drink?

A holiday in Mallorca is only as good as its food and drink! There are several establishments to choose from. In Palma, for example, you can have lunch at the Mercado de Olivar, the perfect place to enjoy delicious tapas in style. The Spot offers an elegant check-in and simple but very good food.

The Café Cappucino in the San Miguel district offers a well-deserved break with an exceptional coffee. For those with a sweet tooth, the Can Miguel ice cream parlour offers exceptional artisanal ice creams. Don’t miss the delicious roasted almond ice cream.

Let’s leave Palma now to discover other gastronomic highlights. You can enjoy a delicious meal on the terrace of the Las Sirenas restaurant (in S’Arenal).

In Puerto Portals, the local Saint Tropez, you can enjoy excellent Mediterranean cuisine at Baiben Restaurant. Then it’s time to head to one of the island’s top addresses: Sa Cuina in Manacor. The menu is simple, but the food is delicious. Would you like to discover the local cuisine? Then head to the Bodega Can Ferrà in Pollença, one of the Balearic Islands’ top restaurants. And don’t miss a drink at the Port d’Andratx for a sumptuous sunset drink.

The island is also home to delicious restaurants such as Sa Clastra in Es Capdellà, with its creative cuisine, and the Michelin-starred Zaranda and Dins Santi Taura in Palma, with their highly refined dishes. Ca’s Patro March is also a very good address. Located in the Deia cove, it’s an ideal place to sample local cuisine in a pleasant setting. You can moor your yacht in the harbour or anchor on Plage del Trench.

What to eat in Mallorca

It’s simply impossible to stay in Mallorca (and charter a luxury yacht in Mallorca) without trying the Arros de peix, a rice and fish dish that’s a marvel of flavour. The Escaldum, a simple yet delicious poultry stew, or the tasty Colomb amb col, a traditional pigeon with cabbage, will delight you. The Trempó is also a must. This surprisingly simple salad offers incredible flavours. Those with a sweet tooth will love the Mallorcan dessert: the Ensaimada, a delicate brioche that can be made with chocolate or custard. Gató mallorqui is another delicious sweet made with almond powder.

Local culture

Majorca is rich in handicrafts. You can treat yourself to blown glass made by the island’s renowned glassmakers, who still use traditional techniques. Local leatherwork is also well known the world over. Don’t hesitate to push open the doors of the artisans and fall for the rare but fabulous handmade bags and shoes.

Another local creation is handmade embroidery. The finesse of these ‘works of art’ is magnificent and instantly recognisable.

Mallorca’s most beautiful beach

Es Trenc, which we have already mentioned, is known as the most beautiful beach in the area. But we prefer to recommend the quieter Cala Mesquida. The picturesque white sand dunes are fascinating when viewed from the sea. Less crowded than its counterpart, it attracts surfers who enjoy the highest waves in the region. You can walk under the pine trees, whose colour contrasts beautifully with the blue of the water.
