Saltmills and St Kearns Community Group AGM

Saltmills and St Kearns Community Group will hold its AGM on Monday 27th May at 7.pm in Colclough Hall Saltmills. Please come along and show your support. New members always welcome.

Abbey Ladies Golf

The Abbey Ladies teed off at the Abbey Par 3 on May 11th. A very enjoyable day of golf in glorious sunshine. Afterwards we were treated to tea/coffee and delicious confectionery baked by our members.

Great scoring for the sought after prizes. First Ann Power with 33 points (back9), second Mary Fogarty with 33 points, third Pauline Byrne with 32 points. Category 1 Carol Murphy with 31 points, category 2 Ann Duggan with 28 points, category 3 Paula Donohue with 29 points. N.P. Hole 18 Rita Furlong. No Birdie winners.

Next competition will be in Rathaspeck on May 25th. New members are always welcome. Contact Frank at Abbey Par 3.

Hook Film Club

Hook Film Club, looking for an alternative night out, head along to The Hall, Fethard-on-Sea for the second film of the Hook Film Club on Tuesday 28th. Join us to watch Typist Artist Pirate King, €10 entry, doors open 7:45pm, film starts at 8pm. Follow @hookfilmclub for details.

Fethard/St.Mogues GAA

Congratulations to Eoin Whelan who has named Boland’s Hurler of the Week for his display with the Wexford U20 Hurlers. Eoin scored two points from the full-back position in a dominant display although not yet full free from a leg injury which hampered him last season.

Fethard Split the Pot

Congratulations to Robbie Molloy, this fortnight’s winner of Split the Pot.

Thanks to all who participated, to the businesses who have the buckets, without whom we couldn’t do it. Buckets are located in Dillon’s Londis, The Wheelhouse Cafe, Fethard Pharmacy, Molloy’s Bar, Geminii Hair and Beauty, Fethard on Sea Tourist Office, Baginbun Lodge, Beautiful U, Salon 60, Castle Design and Hook Lighthouse. Draw every 2nd Wednesday.

St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange would be delighted if more people in our Community would like to avail of the services we offer.

Why not give yourself a day out to meet with friends, old and new, join in activities, or learn new ones, Bingo, Singing, Dancing, Art, Cards, but to name a few while enjoying delicious freshly prepared meals from our kitchen. Our Cook is here to assist with special dietary requirements. Our Nurse is on hand to deal with any minor medical issues.

The services provided include bus collection, laundry, bakery, GP clinic, chiropody, hairdressing, assisted showering, Meals on Wheels Monday to Friday. We like to think of St. Louis Day Care Centre as a home away from home where you will be warmly welcomed.

GRAIGUENAMANAGH

Graig notes

Email news items, club events, announcements etc for the notes to graignotes@outlook.com. Deadline is Saturday 6 p.m.

Lotto Draw

The numbers drawn in the Graig GAA and Highview Athletic lotto draw on May 13 were 5, 16, 24 and 27. There was no winner. The following won €30 each Ann Doyle, Keneth Doyle, Val Lonergan, Eilleen Duff, Helen Ryan. Jackpot now stands at €20,000. Tickets are available from any club member.

Graig Tidy Towns draw

Winners on May 16 were: 1st Prize - Peter Prendergast, €400; 2nd Prize - Mary Quinn, €50; 3rd Prize - Noah O’Halloran, €25. Money raised through Tidy Towns jackpot will be used to keep the town looking well all year round. Draw takes place in the Abbey Centre at 4 p.m. on Thursdays.

Rambling House

The monthly Rambling House is on the second Friday of the month in Newtown Hall, where you can enjoy music and song from local artists and also many from the surrounding districts also join in. The next session is on Friday June 14, at 8 p.m.

GUSSERANE

Lotto

There was no jackpot winner of the Tintern lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 2, 5, 5 and 8. The match three winners were Joy and James c/o PO, Thomas Whelan of Fethard on Sea and Theresa Hayes of Ballycullane. Each collect €70.

This week’s jackpot stands at €3,200.

Cards

Winners in the hall in Gusserane last week were Johnny Flynn, Willie Kehoe and Peter Stafford. Second went to Nicholas Doyle, Pat Ryan and Stasia Furlong. Third were Michael Whelan, Dave Murphy and Pat Whelan. The Last Game Draw was won by John Sinnott, Siobhan Doyle and PJ Doyle. Raffle winners were Luke Power, Larry Power and Declan Egan.

Summer Break

Please note that there will be no card games in the hall in Gusserane for the summer months. Cards will resume on Tuesday nights in September.

Patron

The annual Patron and blessing of the graves takes place with mass in Gusserane on Saturday, June 22nd at 6pm. The Rosary will be recited at the graveyard in Nash at 5pm that evening and all are welcome to come along and participate.

Golf Classic

Gusserane O’Rahillys will hold their annual golf classic in New Ross Golf Club on Friday 28th June so if you are able to swing a golf club please put this date in your calendar.

Ladies Football

Well done to Aoife Cullen, Amanda Power and Shauna Hackett who were all part of the Wexford panel that captured the Leinster Intermediate title last Sunday. Special congratulations to Aoife Cullen on being named Player of the Match.

Camogie

Congratulations to Abbie Bryson, Roisin Doyle, Thea Fuhrman and their manager Aine Coughlan on winning the Leinster final with Ramsgrange Community School. Congratulations also to Emer Hunt and the Wexford Intermediate team becoming Leinster Champions.

Community Games

Horeswood Community Games athletics Finals will be held in the track in New Ross on Thursday 23rd May at 6pm. There will be races for boys and girls under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 as well as under 12 ball throw for boys and girls, U 12 boys long puck, U14 girls long puck and U14 boys and girls long jump. Community Employment

Are you interested in gaining a QQI L5 or L6 qualification in childcare while also gaining practical experience or possibly you are an outdoor person and would like to gain practical experience and training in the use of outdoor machinery and spraying, etc?
