While not widely known, St. Nicholas, among his many patronages includes brewers. In fact, he is the patron saint of brewers. Really. I’m sure of it. I think.The way we think of St. Nick in America begins with the publication of Twas the Night Before Christmas: A Visit From St, Nicholas by Clement C. Moore in 1823.First published in 1823, it is largely responsible for the conception of Santa Claus from the mid-nineteenth century to today, including his physical appearance, the night of his visit, his mode of transportation, the number and names of his reindeer, and the tradition that he brings toys to children. Prior to the poem, American ideas about St. Nicholas and other Christmastide visitors varied considerably. A productive week spent at the Brewers Association CBC in Vegas, meeting suppliers, brewers, and event organizers. Massive thanks to the Brewers Association and Konvoy for their support. Excited to share that there are lots of BD opportunities for We Are Beer down the line. Looking forward to a productive summer working with both organizations over here in the UK. Despite the challenges that the industry is facing globally, leaving Las Vegas feeling pretty positive. Why? ➡ Because the topline trading numbers are decent and people still want premium. The raw material for commercial success is there. ➡ Because the craft and indy sector is where the vast majority of "new" in beer starts, and where the creative capital lies - both brands and products. ➡ Because we're entering into a new phase for good beer and we haven't really seen the sector make its move post-covid. Knowing and meeting the hard working and smart people in beer, and seeing some of the plans and strategies coming into play, I think you'll see good beer kick on again. Which is great for the whole category. Excited to get stuck in.
