Other than chit-chatting with all my famous flutey friends on the Nutwork,
I'm afraid my brushes with greatness have been limited. I did spend a
vacation week in St. Vincent (lower Caribbean) once years ago, and found
that Mick Jagger and family were there (chatted with Jeri Hall about her new
baby without realizing who she was). I also spent a morning with Chuck
Mangione (more interesting than Jagger) when he gave a concert at my
college, and hung out with a few of us from a Music Appreciation class
(yeah, an easy A for a musically inclined physics major) just to chew the
fat.
My meeting with royalty has been limited to shaking hands with The King,
Richard Petty, at the NC State Fair the year he ran for Secretary of State
and accompanied George H.W.Bush on the stump... Ooops, there's that
politics thing again, sorry.
Hey, my son met Lech Walesa last week, does that count?
[Does this kind of rambling mean I'm finally going stir crazy here in
Houston?]
Have a great day,
-Sandy C.

My Grandma used to claim that we were related to
Milton Berle. The rest of the families opinion
is that her rubber eggs affected her brain.

Dear Lesa--
As I have mentioned before, I attended Andover with George W. Bush for
the three years he was there, 1961-1964. I last spoke with him in 1964,
the year he graduated; I graduated in 1965. Thus I find it hard to
visualize him in his current role without remembering him as an
eighteen-year-old. Of course, when I was seventeen, I wasn't much of a psychiatrist.
Cheers,
Levine

Devine John,
Bravo!
Closest I can come to that was the time I smacked into
Jesse Ventura in the Minneapolis airport, while he was
still Jesse the Body, not Jesse the Gov.
My "brush with greatness" literally floored me...
He is larger than he looks. I am 4'11". He was kind
enough to help me up from the floor, which excited
many of my bandmates. I had no clue who he was, 'cept
for one really big fellah.
No doubt it was this encounter which shaped the rest
of his life (GGG).

Well everyone must seem great to you!!<GG>
As my own association with Royalty has failed to impress<g>
maybe the fact I once shared a lift/elevator with Billy Graham
might....oh and he failed to convert me on the short trip to the
lobby..wicked then and wicked now!!
I could of course list some of the major artists I have played
flute for.....but that would be so boring..
I recently put my name into google.com and it came up with so
much stuff I had forgotten.
One album was called "Cruisin" which I could not recall...but
when I had a peep I discovered there is a Californian gay p*rn
with the same name..<G>

Quite the opposite, so impressed am I at all these associations
and connections that I'm almost speechless. Almost <g>

PS - I've also met Billy Graham and I wasn't converted by him,

don't have net access at the moment and was just wondering if the present
world had a current take on you? ;+)

I don't guess anyone was too worried about that, Adrian.

I just put " Adrian Brett " into the field and discovered there were two
others..the aforementioned Californian gay p*rn star and his
"Cruisin" DVD, which I thought was an album I might have played on but had
forgotten..and an English guy who took Mc Donalds to court for unfair
work practices!!
My cover as WUA on FN was blown as most of my emails appear.....well

Hi!
I've been thinking about if I've ever met anyone famous...and remembered
Robert Rauschenberg, the contemporary American artist. He has a house on
Captiva Island, Florida, almost next door to where my best friend's family
has a vacation home. We went there many times, saying hi to Mr. Rauschenberg
as we saw him on the beach. One time we got up the nerve to ask to see his
house & he graciously took us on a tour. His artwork is very - unusual.
However, the most prominent memory (this was many years ago!) was of passing
by his numerous young male proteges fishing in the ocean, wearing...
fishnet swim suits! hahaha!

Okay, I'm still 522 messages behind so excuse me if I've missed the gist of
the conversation here. Just thought I'd add in my own royal encounter.
I was shopping in Harrod's and just getting off the elevator on to the floor
with the toys. I had just been recalling how the year before I had
encountered a friend on that very floor, and was thinking how fun it would
be to once again run into someone I knew there. So when I stepped off the
elevator and saw a familiar face I automatically smiled and headed in that
direction. Then I realized who I was looking at (her expression of
astonishment was a tip-off that she didn't know me) and promptly pretended
to have been headed for the nearest display. Yikes. It was Princess Diana.

Hmmmm, let's see. I once went to an "experimental play" in the loft
of an old theatre and found myself sitting next to Spike Milligan.
And then there was the time I was warming up my horse, and a man kept
asking questions about her. (She was very nice) and it turned out to
be Cpt. Mark Phillips.

He is absolutely unique.
