We came here for a special occasion and were really pleased by the service. There were lovely touches recognising the special occasion when we arrived and this was much appreciated. The food was excellent and there is a good selection of wines, including lots of great English wines. Very happy to recommend this restaurant.

Great food, and great staff. Really good authentic British cuisine tucked away in a nice little alley in Deal. Would recommend the Soufflé.

I can not recommend this gorgeous place enough! First visit on Friday, my birthday, and we had the best night ever. Robert looked after us so well as did everyone else. My dinner was unbelievable good, cauliflower tastic! Sorry we missed dessert due to birthday cake BUT I'm coming back... Thank you so much x

I have visited this beautiful little restaurant many, many times to date. It may be the only restaurant I’ve ever been to where each visit provides the same high standard each time. The staff are extremely friendly, and diligent, and the meals are delicious, the way that only genuine, honest, hearty, home-cooked food can be. Which is a real treasure to have nearby. The Sunday lunches are a major highlight of our weekend. We make sure to take all visitors here to show off Deal!The Roast beef is always cooked to perfection, and if I could take home a pint of the gravy to drink at leisure I surely would. Victuals provide the most delicious menu in Deal if you love hearty roast dinners, and as I said earlier, I have never ever been disappointed.Victuals also offers a superb wine menu, which includes a huge range of delights from Kent vineries. Keep doing what you’re doing, the best in Deal without a doubt!!

A great experience. I had made a mistake in my booking but they were able to accommodate my booking which was resourceful and kind. Food and service were faultless. Thankfully portion sizes here are healthy. We enjoyed a wonderful three course that was imaginative, beautifully seasoned and expertly cooked. 100% gorgeous.

Had very tasty meal here, food was very good! Did not realise that they had second floor in the restaurant as well! Friendly staff, only downside was that being seated upstairs, all people left early and we were only people left upstairs and seems like staff sort of forgot about us. But overall good experience and tasty food, would like seat next time downstairs. Would go back again.

This little gem is definitely on my list of places to visit.Everything about the place is perfect. Excellent staff, atmosphere, fantastic food and great wine. Delightful tasting food, excellent use of flavours and all well presented. Prices are on par with the other top restaurants in Deal. Staff friendly and polite but the service was a little bit disjointed. I appreciate that restaurants have limited staff at the moment but there Is also a limited menu and diners. Still would use again.

Lovely location, friendly service and tasty, well-cooked food.This restaurant is tucked away in a lovely little street. They have a small menu, which I think is perfect as it means making a choice doesn't give you a headache and they know how to cook the food well. The food was so tasty, I'll happily go back next time we holiday in Deal. And the waitress serving us was very friendly and professional.

Great meal, nice place to be, good service- not rushed. The steak was as I asked for," lovely" and a selection of veg with couliflower-chees on the side. Good choice in wine and drinks all served with a smile. The menue had several choices, which chainges weekly and weekends. Booking is required which you would expect from a highish-enb resterant. In all, an easy 5***** service all round, happy to recommend.

Hotel and rooms need updating. Stayed in a king size bed room. The bathroom ceiling needed addressing & the shower needed adjusting as water everywhere. The room needs updating attention to detail. The room was extremely hot so didn’t get a good nights sleep, also very noisy downstairs. However after all said breakfast was 100% staff couldn’t do enough for you, we had a full English it was lovely staff kept asking if we needed more toast coffee etc. all staff we met where happy with smiles… and helpful. £90 was what we paid for one night including breakfast. Would I stay again No .. would I stop for breakfast yes.

The quality of the food was decent, but we found the pork to be quite tough and chewy. On the positive side, we really enjoyed the oysters they served. However, we did experience some frustration with the service as it took a significantly long time for our orders to be served. Despite these issues, we appreciated the overall dining experience.

My family eats here on a regular basis and has done so for over 20 years. I can honestly say that we've never had a bad meal. Great location, excellent food, fantastic value for money and outstanding staff. Bar food, restaurant or just a drink, I can happily recommend Dunkerleys without hesitation.

This hotel was great and its right on the seafront! The staff were great and ensured we had a pleasant stay.The breakfast tasted amazing and it was included in the room price. This was one of the cheapest hotels I found in the area, so I was very happy with what I got for my money - hence the 5 stars.The rooms have an old feel to them, but I actually liked that

Saw the menu and decided to go in on the spur of the moment. Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable layout. Ordered fish and it was cooked to order: a very enjoyable meal accompanied by locally brewed beer. Would definitely go there for the fish.

My sister in law and I had a wonderful time, the staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was warm and cozy. We had a delicious, relaxed dinner and then shared a cheese plate with port. It was a significant birthday and we felt very special. We both slept very well, even though it was the night of the storm. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We would both love to come again thank you

Not a bad little place, room was of a decent size and quality for the money, which incidentally was good compared to some other establishments locally. Breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful. In a very good location right on the seafront and near the centre of town. No local parking, so you have to book into one of the relatively inexpensive paying car parks. Would stay there again.

Because the food was wonderful. The staff were lovely and they didn't rush us between meals. The restaurant was very well laid out and lovely too. Anyone thinking of going I would highly recommend this place.

Sick after seafood experience. My partner and I are locals and have been to this restaurant before - the meat dish was lovely. However, on Friday 12th January 2024 we decided to share a starter of grilled oysters with garlic butter.The dish was bought out and it was a plate of raw oysters. We kindly corrected the waitress and our dish was taken away. When it returned the oyster shells felt slightly warm to touch and there was indeed garlic butter melted onto them. I suspect they were the same raw oysters with butter melted. This was the only dish my partner and I shared and we have both had vomiting and diarrhea which commenced on the Sunday and I am still off work feeling absolutely awful. I am disappointed as I emailed Dunkerleys to let them know how sick we were but have still had absolutely no response. I don't expect to go for a meal and end up with food poisoning and a week off work. Sort it out.

Excellent restaurant in Deal. Great value small plates, interesting flavour combinations presented beautifully. Proper, life affirming food with a fantastic wine list at very reasonable prices. We were well looked after by all the staff, with special shouts to Isabelle & Cath for the attentive and welcoming service. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

I echo another reviewers post, wish I’d read his and took heed. Overpriced, tiny portions, absolutely mental to charge £17 for a tiny piece of cauliflower steak that’s mostly stalk and no sides. Had to wait an hour for this so I took this photo after a couple bites because I was so hungry, but this is what £17 gets is insane. Have to find another restaurant now, still hungry. My wife had decent fish, but the cauliflower steak was unfortunately a massive disappointment.

Cute cosy vibes, great food & wine, and excellent service. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us good suggestions of what to order and how much. We went for the special on the day (sea bream with nduja and sprouting broccoli) and it was divine. Anchovy main was also really good. I would definitely go back if we find ourselves in Deal again!

Had a booking there tonight to celebrate my wife's birthday. Food and small plates menu options very well balanced and delicious. The staff recommendation of 3 plates per person was just right. Service attentive but not obtrusive. Being Tuesday evening the atmosphere was a bit quiet but, in my view, that's a bonus for me but not necessarily for them. We'll be back next time we're in Deal. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, despite the warm service and great looking menu, the food was very disappointing. As other reviews mention - the price was completely mismatched with the size and quality of the dishes. Most notably the broccoli with xo sauce was so overcooked I could’ve swallowed it without chewing, contrary to the leek small plate which I could have chewed for a week and not digested. It just felt poorly cooked, bland and utterly overpriced.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We will be back ;-)Edit Sept/2021, I went back, twice recently, but I thing they overcharge: 2 x 3 courses + 1 bottle of wine (one of the cheapest) = £160. This is too much.

We enjoyed wonderful food and fantastic service in this cute little bistro in Deal. I can highly recommend the Gurnard and the fantastic Tiramisu Ice cream dessert. Thank you, we will be back!

Loved this place, a great vibe. A great menu and wine list. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu is quite expensive but you can see the care and effort put into each small plate and they all tasted delicious! Would definitely go back.

Just this restaurant alone is worth a visit to Deal. Outstanding, mind-blowing small plates food concept. It is very well priced with delicious food. It's probably the best food I've eaten outside of London. The service was also really good, kind, attentive, and responsive. This place is great for a quick bite and a glass of wine or a full sit-down meal with a variety of dishes, each bringing you on its own flavour journey. We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people plus dessert and non alcoholic Espresso martini, and we paid 74£, so it's very reasonable. If you are really hungry or want to taste it all, order the same amount. Otherwise, scale down to 4-5 dishes. The portions are decent. My absolute favourites were the blue cheese puffs, the chickpea puffs, and hasbrown with fish. However, it was really difficult to choose favourites as everything is just so tasty.This restaurant has just recently changed their food concept from 3 course to small sharing plates. Therefore, most of the pictures here are out of date. Check my photos to see the latest offering and looks of the food. This restaurant has both outside and inside sitting. If the weather is great, it is worth to sit outside.

My 4th time visiting and did not disappoint! I wish I had taken more photos, but we were just too busy scoffing each dish delicious down!The staff remembered us and were as warm and welcoming as previous visits.We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu we missed out on!

Saturday night was our 2nd time at this wonderful place, and we ended up back there again for Sunday lunch, for what was surely the best veggie roast I’d ever eaten.The tapas plates on the menu are imaginative and insanely good, and the staff are welcoming and lovely. A definite favourite!

This place has been on my list for a while.Unfortunately they close in the afternoon so no good for a late lunch hence never making it.Thankfully I was in Deal super early last weekend and managed to secure a table.Service was a bit slow with our water request being requested three times.Food nowhere near as good as anticipated and was average at best.My table ordered the set lunch.Whilst waiting we asked if we could have bread, three tiny slices fir £3.A few halved cherry tomatoes with pesto for starter and the main steak was VERY chewy (and not rested).Overpriced IMHO for the quality!Drinks were one price on menu and charged as 20% extra on bill; plus, a single glass of average wine £12!!!£60++pp for lunch (with 2 drinks)Seems a lot of venues have increased their prices significantly recently (as I understand they have to to survive) , however, it's my belief only those with excellent customer service and amazing quality produce will ride out this storm.Sadly I won't be rushing back.

The whole look of the exterior is very attractive and drew us in even though there are many other eateries to choose from.Inside it was spacious yet still cosy. The decor was stylish and quirky, expecially the toilet ☺️.Our server, Edith gave us a warm welcome and she was very knowledgeable about thier menu. She guided us through the choices and offered great advice as to which items may match our taste preferences best.The food was outstanding. We chose a selection of small sharing plates. All were delightful and the combination of flavours worked exceptionally together.Cal and Jake, the chefs are obviously extremely talented and passionate about thier food. It is obvious that they put a lot of thought and love into the menu.We heartily and sincerely recommend the Frog and Scot and will definitely be returning with friends and family.We just popped in for a light lunch but ended up having a taste bud tingling and all round memorable experience.We cannot recommend enough.

Stayed one night June 2023 whilst cycling Cantii way. Nick is a wonderful host & chef. Room good with glorious sea view and nice design touches. Dinner superb value and tasty. Highly recommend

Came here with family on Christmas Eve and had the three course set menu. The food is really exceptional and everything is prepared onsite. Front of house are incredibly attentive and you have enough time between courses to relax. A really good selection of wines are available.

Really lovely fish and chip shop in Deal and recommend it. Fish was excellent and the batter was delicious. I had the small chips and large fish and it was a tough finish, so maybe you could get medium fish small chips. Great place to get fish and chips when visiting. I didn't get a photo as I was soooo hungry I ate it too soon but got a snap of the inside and you see the excellent fish at the right of the photo

The best fish & chips i have had for a long, long time. Batter was fresh tasting & crispy. The fillets were chunky and very white. Exquisite taste.The chips were also excellent. A distinctive taste. We had a takeaway and ate our meal on the beach.It was that nice my wife and I felt obliged go back and pass on our thanks.

By far the best fish and chips I have had in Deal and in the whole south of England. I look forward to this every time I'm in Deal. Tasty fresh fish with crispy batter fried in a nice tasting, clean oil and the best chips - soft but also fried in a clean, tasty oil to give them a decent bit of crisp on the outside.

We’ve been visiting Deal for many years and always looked forward to going here for dinner.Sadly, the past 2 times, we’ve been really disappointed. The fish was great, but the chips were dripping with oil and the portion size was so small, Literally a 1/4 of what you get in other chip shops - And I’ve been to many! We even ordered large. My family were hungry an hour later. Ended up going home and cooking burgers. Come on middle street fish bar - SORT YOUR CHIPS OUT 🙏

Fish very small and thin, skin left on and completely unseasoned. Battered sausage was tiny and curry sauce is the thin Chinese style - not the proper thick stuff. As other reviews have said, the lady on the till was rude and surly. Overall very disappointed!

Wow! This place past my expectations, from the outside it looks like any other fish and chip shop. But you can sit down at the back of the shop through a side entrance. Pleasant service, service with a smile, which is rare these days. I ordered small cod and chips, when it came it looked more like a large portion, fantastic! The taste was also fantastic succulent cod and crispy chips. I would definitely go there again.Only one disappointment, no lemon to squeeze on my cod, I put that down to me not asking, otherwise just perfect.You can park your car next door to Astor Community Theatre. 3 min from there.

1 hour from ordering to starting to eat.When we asked (after 40 minutes) when the food was coming. The waiter waved his hand and did nothing.THE MESSAGE I GOT WAS THAT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR EAT IN CUSTOMERS.There is a big conflict between serving in house customers and their takeaway service.Did i enjoy the food when it arrived, NO, really not that good.

The food was excellent, all very flavouful and fresh. My wife had king prawns which were the biggest I've ever seen in a restaurant. Seemed very good value for money as well, I will definitely go back or order for takeaway

We have been dining here for many years and never tire. With our two babes who are now men and curry aficionados. The service is great and we are always made very welcome.

Very Impressed with this restaurant.Walked past at 8pm on a Monday evening and noticed how busy it was so had to try it.Delicious starters was chicken chat, samosas with of course poppadoms and a first for me coconut chutney which we all enjoyed.Mains was a Lanb Gurkha, pilau rice and garlic nann. All very good, nice kick to the lamb dish but could have done with a better cut of lamb being used in the dish.Decent pint of cobra draft lager available and ok house wine! We came on a quiet evening, the waiter was lovely and attentive. The food was all fantastic and well cooked. Very authentic. They stayed open a bit later even though we were the only ones in the restaurant still chatting while they were tidying up etc. I had a very good evening.

Last night was the first time myself, wife and two friends had visited this restaurant. The first waiter was not at all friendly in fact when asked where was the house wine he impatiently and abruptly said, “Its top left of the menu!” When my friend couldn’t see the house wine in this location, she asked again to be me met with the same response. When she asked a third time, he took the menu and couldn't find it himself and when he did it was elsewhere on the menu. He didn’t even apologise. The next waiter who came to take the food order was equally impatient and rude. The decor of this restaurant requires major refurbishment. Especially on the way to the toilets and within them. The food was at best average. We will never be returning to this restaurant again.

We live next door and went in for a Monday evening meal with our 4 year old. Mixed tandoori grill, Peshwari Nan perfectly cooked & scrumptious! I hate to leave a bad review but the food was really really bland. No flavour whatsoever, not even basic seasoning. Such a disappointment.

Food was very good, staff very attentive. well worth a visit. One suggestion is that the poppadoms were a bit stale but that’s the only fault I could find. Decor is very traditional and different from your average modern restaurant. Carpets could possibly do with bringing back to life. Will visit again.

Absolutely shocking experience at the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to.The staff weren't friendly at all, they rushed us sitting down, ordering and paying for the meal.The food was average at best and the naans and chips were cold. They then had the audacity to charge us for chutney with our poppadoms. Having been to many restaurants I know that it is not the case that you get charged for it but the owner said we have to pay for it which we completely refused. When going through the rest of the bill, I noticed they tried to over charge us by £70.When we threatened further action, the owner told us sorry and it was a miscalculation.The beer was also flat and when we complained about this, the owner jokingly suggested we blow bubbles in it.Shocking.

Fantastic place (location) to visit for just a coffee or drink or for a complete meal, whether it be for a Sunday lunch or breakfast. Ideal location teetering on the edge of Deals beach front with outside areas protected by transparent front wall to protect you from the elements. Not stayed before but inside does look warm and welcoming. Staff are always friendly and serve one of the best hot chocolates I've had in a while.

So glad to have found this gem of a hotel right on the beach. The room was great with views overlooking the seafront and pier. The majority of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The best part of the stay was how dog friendly the hotel was. Had a great stay with my pooch and would definitely return for another visit.

Stunning location. (Superior double) room had a sea view that wasn't advertised so a real treat. Deal itself is so under rated as a location for couples. Stunning beach front bar/restaurant at the Royal Hotel. Lovely history. Friendly staff. A gem. So glad I found this place and I will be back 100%

Had a great tasting lunch in the restaurant located on the beach. The staff was friendly and spent time talking with us, even got menu for thier Shepherd Pie, which was very tasty with hint of red wine. Wife had seafood pasta in a light white sauce that was outstanding. Definitely a great place to eat. Pic is of bar area.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting family. The weather was very cold for our stay and although we had the radiators turned up we didn't really get warm. The beds were great but we got chilly in the bathrooms. Staff were excellent at check-in and we enjoyed our cooked breakfast although I think we surprised the staff whenever we turned up! Bar was excellent. Right on the beach so an excellent location.

We booked their large function room for a family gathering on a Sunday. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in booking, food ordering, and on the day. The room was great - lots of space for the toddlers to run round. Smaller meals available for small appetites. Children's meals were wolfed down and the puddings gave them an extra boost of energy for the afternoon. A great place for a family event.

Absolutely amazing little city, Deal, and a lovely hotel. Warm room, but fan was provided. Breakfast on order, tasting as most English breakfast do.The hotel is located right on the beach and the water is great. But bring shoes cause the stones are really hard and uncomfortable to walk on. We ate an expensive dinner here on a Saturday evening, and we're very disappointed. Disinterested staff dumped a handful of cutlery on the table, including a dirty sticking plaster tangled up with a fork, which was replaced as if we were asking for a big favour. ,The menu listed 'bread for the table' which cost £5 and consisted of one bread roll (with no willingness to augment it when we asked!). One or two good dishes but very expensive, and we would not recommend it!

Lovely welcome by the manager Scott, helped with local information got us a charger for room and helped with bags. Lovely views over the e channel. The building is historic and charming food was outstanding with great service Deal is a beautiful town we will return shout out to housekeeping.

Restaurant by the sea side which is always a good location in my option. Car park was on the small side and was a bit confusing to try and get to where my friends were seating. Food was really and the the waitress on the day was pretty good with the service.Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour on three day by there was still good atmosphere in the restaurant to keep everyone’s spirits up

I cannot praise this hotel too highly lovely comfortable room excellent service and staff do helpful. Edits on reception was superb. Really like the fresh milk in a flask given without asking. The normal long life sachets taste awful. I am coeliac and staff went out of their way to cater for my gluten free diet. Only criticism are the small business cards difficult to read and I couldn’t get the bar code? To work to leave my review.

Rooms are getting a little tired and could do with a refresh. Old building so soundproofing very poor and nights were disturbed with neighbours moving around. Views are great, if you get a seaview room of course. Staff friendly. No room maid service due to COVID which is a shame and you have to request items that would normally be done/sorted/changed/replaced as part of the room being made up...but price of rooms means the negatives can be ignored as on balance a great place to stay.

Absolutely fantastic food and service.Popped in for a spot of seaside lunch, I opted for the fish chips n pea puree. The significant other went for the ale pie. Although I really wanted to attack her pie with my fork I wasn't going to risk leaving my fish un protected from her fork.Totally changed my last stand should the end of the world come, the Winchester will have to be my second option now I've eaten at the Royal Hotel Deal.£40 for Two gut filling meals and a couple of drinks Bargain.

Great food and value and friendly staff. Lovely views in the Boat house section. BEWARE !! DOUBLE TIPPING!! Service charge added to bill which is fine but credit card machine is handed over without comment with screen giving choice of how much tip you want to add. Went as a group of three ladies as a surprise joint 40th . We absolutely loved the hotel and room . Luckily we got a space in the car park next to the hotel as that I'd the closest one but its a public one so you need a ticket. Lovely stroll through the town and along the beach on to pier. Very friendly staff comfortable room.

We just popped in for coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely view of the sea, we sat outside. I'd recommend it!

Had lunch during half-term. The location was good, managed to park, upon entering reception staff were very helpful.Then to the restaurant/bar area, all good, menu was adequate if not slightly disappointing with choices. When ordering lunch we requested if the kitchen could heat up a meal we had prepared for our baby. This was free of all additives, sugar, e numbers and gluten. We were told this categorically could not be done due to allergies, which makes no sense and was awfully unhelpful. We felt forced to purchase a £7 pasta meal which was not free from all the items listed above. So essentially we paid for the privilege of Shepherd Neame filling our child with chemicals we do not feed him. Won’t be back nor would I recommend anyone with a child to visit. Just shocking customer service!!

Had a very tasty meal here at lunchtime today - very nicely presented and served by very helpful and friendly staff. My friend and I are Shepherd Neame Birthday Club members so had only to pay for one meal which was an added bonus!!! Very recommendable and will certainly be back.

My partner and I are vegan, we visited friends in Deal and they suggested this place for it's separate and large vegan menu...and WOW!Sometimes, when a non vegan dedicated restaurant has a huge variety of vegan options - it's doesn't necessarily mean the options are great, or done well ... especially with specialist quizine, such as Asian food and so on...but this place is an incredible exception.I would go as far as to say it's the best vegan food we've ever had from a non vegan place...I don't know what all the ingredients were, but it wasn't just tofu! They used a type of meaty mushroom for duck replacement in one of the dishes, it was insanely good...The (not)chicken satay was indescribably delicious...I could go on...we had a number of dishes to try... All if it was perfect...and everything was so fresh...it was not a stodgy takeaway, felt and tasted healthy and flavoursome... Our non vegan friends rave about the main menu in the same way, but as a vegan I can now vouch for them as an all round excellent restaurant...

We’ve both eaten in and had delivery. Amazing range of incredible vegan dishes. When we visited the manager was being visited by someone who seemed to be an investor who was grilling her on the business. This guy kept glaring aggressively at both of us and it was most intimidating. Won’t be dining in there again in case he’s there but happily we’re within delivery range!

Ordered a takeaway whilst visiting dover. We had the vegan versions of Mongolian beef, Thai crispy prawns and duck in orange sauce. All very tasty and delivery was excellent. Only thing I don't understand is why they give you prawn crackers with a vegan meal, sure it's free but seems a waste of food.

Never again. We have had takeaway from hey hey three times and twice they have got our order wrong, even when they confirm your order back to you the kitchen gives you the wrong food. Tonight when we arrived there was a young girl and boy behind the counter. Both were on their phones and clearly had no interest in being there. No hello or can I take your order etc. We gave the boy our order and waited. Both of them continued to use their phones even when other customers came in. Takeaway food was left on the counter for long periods of time. I asked the boy if the dining in menu was the only menu you could have when eating in and he said "Err I think so" if you work there don't you think this is something you should know? More food came out and because they were both still on the phones a boy came in and took the two takeaway bags off the counter, they had to call him back because one of them was our takeaway. When we unpacked our food we realised that they had got our order completely wrong. We had 2 portions of vegan crispy chilli beef instead of one, no vegetable fried rice and the vegetable noodles was chicken and prawn, not great when you order vegetarian. This ruined our evening and meant we had wasted £30 and had to cook our own food. This is the second time they have got our order wrong. Being at the more expensive end of the market you would expect better. If you have food allergies I would strongly advise you not to eat here as you cannot trust them to give you what you order.

We have had takeaway from hey hey, never in the restaurant. We were very impressed with the restaurant. The menu isn't as big as takeaway menu, but there's plenty to choose from. The food was excellent, the staff were really great. Its a lovely room, friendly and unhurried. We will be back for more.

I’ve ordered from Hey Hey previously and it was fine, but this evening, I ordered at 18.00 and our food was delivered by 18.07. The food was hot but tasted really unpleasant and was not fresh at all. I called Hey Hey and let them know, I was offered a free meal on my next order which I politely declined. Really disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this Chinese Takeaway.

A bit disappointing. I'm aware that everyone has different tastes, but what we ordered was mostly bland. Fried rice was so dry it was clearly a reheat. There's no way it was fresh. The pork was tough and was likely cooked days ago and just reheated in a microwave.The szechuan beef was OK, but really needed some heat to it. I know Chinese take aways tone down their spices to cater for British tastes, but there was barely any spice at all.The dim sums were great. No complaints there.The girl who took our order was lovely and friendly.I think we'll look elsewhere for Chinese food in future.

THE BEST VEGAN FOOD IN EAST KENTI had heard lots of good things about Hey Hey and finally got around to ordering from there and I was not disappointed! We had the vegan chilli beef and vegan sweet and sour chicken, and it was absolutely delicious.My kids loved the regular chicken balls, rice etc.Very reasonably priced and great staff. We will definitely be back

First time ordering here and honestly the best Chinese take away I've had in a long time. Food tastes high quality.

Placed an order at 1800hrs, it was to be delivered at 1845hrs. I rang to complain and find out where my order was, this was at 1925hrs. At 2025hrs I attempted to call back and just cancel, unfortunately I couldn't get through. I did try over twenty times, but to no avail. It's now 2125hrs and have given up.Knock on the door at 2135hrs, are you really trying to deliver that now? Three and a half hours after I ordered!

Our third order: ordered over the phone for delivery. Vegan chow mein and meat chow mein. Only 1 chow mein arrived and we assumed it to be vegan - tried it and it was chicken! Called them as there was an extra, unordered dish we couldn't identify. We were told it was a pad Thai as they no longer do vegan chow mein. When we said they should've called and told us as being vegan and putting chicken in your mouth is rank, she laughed and said we could eat the pad Thai...the point was absolutely missed. She offered a refund for that dish on our next order - there won't be a next order.

Delicious vegan starter and main. Great service too. Had lots of takeaways but first time in restaurant. Definitely going again!

The other options I checked out almost next door didn't have the breakfast included and the room was better and cheaper than the other options I walked into and checked out. The Queen of Denmark stayed in same room in 2017 and its a really nice room, at a great price in a great budget hotel. I felt like I got really great value. Happy as Larry at the end of the stay.

First off my regards go out to the helpful and accommodating staff. They made the short stay we had extra pleasant.The room we had was very good and surprisingly spacious. Well ventilated, clean and tidy and all in all very nice.The location is superb. You literally step outside on to the pier. And it's bang in the middle of the town.I'm likely to book this same place if we stay over in Deal again.

Food was horrible. My boyfriend ordered a BBQ sauce chicken meal and the sauce was Worcester ? He didn’t eat it and the price was insane considering they didn’t even bring him what he ordered (well unless food wasn’t as described). The water coming from the taps was YELLOW/ ORANGE which I realised as I was taking a shower 🤢 the camera doesn’t pick it up as pigmented but the pictures say enough.

We stayed in the hotel last weekend and im still getting over what amazing value it was, have told anyone that would listen…Breakfast was perfect, proper full English the room was spotlessly clean and so toasty warm, we had a view of the pier which was great watching the high waves due to tail end of the storm.The staff very friendly and relaxed, we’re going to book again real soon, going to do a walk along the White Cliffs when the wind dies down.

This is a basic but very clean hotel in a great position on the seafront by the pier. Room was simple, comfortable and clean. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Bottles of water in the room also a nice touch. We were en-suite but the shared bathrooms seemed fine.Breakfast was particularly good. Cereal and yogurt/fruit plus the cooked choices were excellent. Full english and Eggs Benedict was really lovely and cooked beautifully.Nice little bar. Restaurant/evening meals looked good although not tried.Overall a very nice experience and stay plus reasonably priced.

Quite a nice hotel next to the see with a nice drinking/running/swimming opportunities around. Rustic old rooms with a homy countryside vibe. Yet, be prepared for some mold in the showers, old facilities, and not a very tasty (yet filling) breakfast.

Nice budget hotel, very friendly staff. Room was clean and the beds are good for a good sleep. Handy hotel when you have to leave early for the boat from Dover to Dunekerk. Good English breakfast! 5 stars👍

Lovely hotel right on the seafront, warm welcome when we arrived and all the staff were really helpful. We had room 15 which was an ensuite room and really Nice, bed was a little soft for us but that's just personal choice. They breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it. We would definitely stay here again.

About two weeks ago in September my husband and I had booked four nights. On the third night my husband was taken ill. The owner/manager was brilliant. He could not have been more helpful. Called an ambulance and looked after our luggage whilst we were at the hospital a few days. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our first two nights in our clean, comfortable, and spacious room, with a lovely sea view. Everything to hand on the tea tray. Lovely friendly staff served a good breakfast who made sure we had a table in front of the window to view the sea and the pier. We liked the the hotel very much being quiet. One of the nicest we have stayed in. Agree completely with Anne Jones review four months ago. Throughly recommend. Hope to return sometime, when next in Kent.

Stayed here on visit to deal. Centrally located by pier. Old fashioned b&b. But owner has plans to update. The drinks in bar were fine. Had excellent ham egg and chips for evening meal. Very reasonable priced.Ideal for a cheap weekend in deal.Will come back again

Great service (late check in was no problem). Room was simple but clean and provided all I needed. Perfect location (right on beach allowing for a morning swim) with convenient council parking nearby. Just a shame I didn’t have time to try the breakfast. Thanks a lot!

Great place. The food was smashing. The service was friendly, chatty and fast made to feel welcome. Was able to park right out the front. Dog friendly lots of different breed and sized . Wide choice of food was available all at a good price. Clean and welcoming will definitely be going back

Came here on a whim whilst on a weekend away, saw that it was advertised as dog friendly and thought we’d give it a go! We’re so glad we did, very very dog friendly, small and quaint with exceptionally friendly service. Best breakfast we’ve had out in a long time, English breakfast had perfectly cooked eggs, good quality bacon (thick cut) and the tastiest sausages! The omelette was a great size with a large side salad (chips or hash brown was options if salad isn’t your thing)Coffee was lovely and all was reasonably priced! The ladies were very friendly and it’s clearly popular with the locals! As it was quite busy! We would return in a heartbeat!

Excellent Veggie (customisable) breakfast, cooked well and fresh, with generous portions and a nice selection of items. Gluten free and Vegan friendly, kid friendly, pets allowed, inclusive seating- what more can you ask for? Excellent service is part of the Deal (literally!) and the coffee is to die for. Definitely recommend and the best part is that they are one of the few places open early by 8am if you’re doing an early morning walk.

Glorious little cafe by Walmer Bandstand with good coffee and delicious omelettes. If you sit in the window you get a great view. You can book a table inside. Food is fresh and quick to come out. It does get busy but that is because its really good 👍

I went to the Goose On The Green on a Thursday for a late breakfast. The staff were extremely welcoming and kind, I arrived by myself later to be joined by my brother. Once I ordered at the till my coffee came out which was lovely and hot, not soon after, my food arrived which was delicious. I had a lovely time sitting in the window seat and look forward to returning soon for another wonderful meal.

Absolutely fabulous! A wonderful breakfast, excellent quality ingredients-probably one of the best breakfasts I have had. Really generous portions and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff.It was a great buzzy atmosphere and really busy, so book ahead!It’s amazing that some people are so rude to staff. A couple were told they would have to wait around 10 minutes for a table, and rudely told the staff “well it better be 10 minutes”.I’m not quite sure how staff are supposed to predict when customers leave. Come on people, think about the human you are speaking to and whether you would like to be spoken to in the same manner!The staff here were all fabulous! :)

Found this place as we drove through to Deal. Lovely family run business, we were made very welcomed, and nothing was too much trouble. Home-made cakes were out of this world and had a lovely coffee. It was busy and there was seating outside. We will have lunch next time we stop there. It's definitely worth a visit and support local businesses.

Today I went to a Afternoon tea for the NHS and what was delivered was outstanding each person had a box of savoury and a box of sweet brilliant it was and the amount of food in the box was great such a good variety and very flavour some. I brought the rest home as it was very filling and well worth the money. Thankyou Captain Tom for all your hard work raising money thru covid for the NHS captain. We salute you xxx

I ordered afternoon tea for three of us to be delivered locally. Charlie was helpful and friendly the whole way through. When the tea arrived it was beautifully presented in different savoury and sweet boxes, which are cardboard and so can be recycled. Full marks for the quality and presentation of the tea treats, for the carbon friendly packaging, for the vegetarian option and the great customer service. We had afternoon tea for two between three of us and it was plenty. I'd definitely recommend the Corner Cafe and will use it again. Just yum!!

Just fantastic!Having read about this place I decided to give it a try (not local to me at all).All I can say is that it is worth travelling to and is good value for money.Location is just across the road from the beach (lots of benches beside the beach to sit at and enjoy your fish whilst watching the sea).The quality of the food id outstanding. Good size portion of fish covered in the most flavorsome crispy batter (well seasoned that is not at all greasy and very crispy) accompanied by chips that really tasted exceptional.

I can honestly say the best chips I have had in a long time! I didn't have cash and card machine wasn't working, but was able to pay via BACS once my app finally accepted the details. All staff were so helpful and patient while I tried to sort it after many failed attempts! Cannot recommend enough and we really did enjoy it all the more! We will be back! Thank you

Great fish and chips but I baulked at paying 50p for a sachet of tomato ketchup. I'd rather go without. It's £2.39 for a 250g bottle of ketchup. That's just greedy!

One the best fish and chips! We placed a big order on the phone for collection for 7 people. I am a coeliac so we let them know in advance + requested that my food was clearly labelled separately as GF. They were so accommodating and understanding. The food was ready in time and it was DELICIOUS, all of us loved it. The gluten free batter was perfect, not greasy or soggy at all! It was also so nice to see so many GF options on the menu, (and not just cod) so I was able to have my first ever battered sausage as a coeliac snd it did not disappoint! The curry sauce was *chefs kiss*. If I ever come back to Deal it will be a must again :)

Fish and chips were exellent, dropped a star as the curry sauce was more like gravy with curry flavour.The service was outstanding, never have I been to a chippy and had such a pleasant person serving, really makes you feel like a valued customer.I also like the fact that they offer lemon with the fish and even wipes to clean your hands afterwards.

Delicious batter, good fish choice and friendly staff who are happy to describe all the catch in crispy detail. They do fresh gluten-free options too. Recommend taking the food for a picnic on the beach across the road

It is the best fish and chips from Deal-Dover and their chicken nuggets are unique you won't find nowhere something like that my kids just loves them. Always looking forward to eat again.

Hand on my heart this is one of the best pizzas I have eaten - even though I made a couple of adjustments as in fresh chillies. Absolutely delicious thin crust with garlic mushrooms and tomato with a caramelised onions rich tomato sauce, vintage cheddar and rocket. My partner had the Chorizo, basil and tomato. Both were scrumptious and worth the slight wait for perfection...

Visited for the first time at the weekend, I can see why this was no.1 in Walmer, it’s delicious. Interesting, unusual toppings as well as the usuals, and fantastic garlic bread! They are happy to alter toppings or make pizzas vegetarian upon request. Worth going out of your way for. It’s ‘bring your own bottle’ as well, which keeps the price down!

First time we have used this Indian takeaway, decided it was closer than the town ones and getting a bit fed up with them. Tonight’s takeaway was lovely, the flavour of the Brinjol Bhajee was excellent as was the Saffron special rice, we had a chicken tikka curry, it was nice but will go a bit more spicy next time. My husband and I always share a curry these days with a starter and side dish and that is plenty for us. Will definitely be going back.

Well, can't complain at the atmosphere score as it's a takeaway only, but very happy with the rest. We had Bombay Vegetable curry, pilau rice and garlic naan bread which were all very nice indeed.

We have always ordered from Saffron in the past but this is the first time in a year and never again. The poppadoms were lovely but that was it. The biryani lacked flavour and depth and the chicken kashmir was so bland, indeed I didn’t even know it was possible to find a banana which didn’t even taste of one! Disappointing.

Not the greatest experience we have had. Ordered meals from them, and to be fair they did arrive in a relatively good time. The issues started when opening up the meals to find one of them the chicken is all on the bone, couple of small legs and small thighs, it didn't state the meat was in the bone in the menu, after much messing about, we managed to de-bone the chicken and finally sat down to eat. A couple of forkfuls in, I pulled out a piece of metal from they meal. Once this was found I called them to complain, they apologized to me and said my next meal would be free, I asked for a refund but they kept saying next meal free, I asked 3 times for a refund and didn't get anywhere. They didn't even offer to replace the meal, I would of gladly given them back the bad one. I doubt very much we will go back to them after this. So we are out of pocket on this one. Lesson learnt

We walked in my partner knew what he wanted, but I didn't. I asked the lovely man behind the counter to help me pick a meal, after describing what I was after he suggested chicken bhuna which I went for. We paid by card and waited about 20 mins on the comfy sofa.Got the food home and it was all fresh and smelled amazing. The chicken korma was very good, and the poppadoms too. My bhuna was full of flavour and my garlic naan absolutely delicious. Saffron will be our go-to for Indian take away from now on. Highly recommend.

I have purchased cod and chips before but the ones I had tonight where awful - the cod was very thin, cold and hard so I would imagine it was unsold from lunch time. A real shame and a total waste of money and the drive. The pic shows how thin it was and it wasnt a tail end....even my dog refused it!

Average price. Big menu. Chips, curry sauce, and peas were spot on. The fish was a bit dry but hopefully it was an off day as it was very busy so it must generally be good.

Absolutely loved grabbing our dinner from Castle Fish Bar. They had a wonderful menu with plenty of options for the entire family.We couldn’t decide and ended up ordering a sampling of different fish, hamburgers, chips and they staff was kind enough to give my kids some treats.Super friendly staff.No seats available so we took the food down to the beach and had our dinner there.This is a great spot.

This is my mother-in-law's favourite Fish and Chip shop, and whenever we come down to visit her, we always get treated to fish and chips. This was our first trip back to Castle Fish Bar since Lockdown and it was as good as ever. The fish is always so fresh and the batter light, and the chips are to die for! We always get a friendly welcome and it always looks spotless. We love the flower baskets outside too. Looking forward to our next trip to Deal, when no doubt we will be enjoying some more fish and chips!

First time I’ve tried Crystal Garden. Ordered via their easy to use website, the food delivered quicker than expected. Very friendly delivery driver. The food was lovely and hot and the portions were very generous. As for the taste? Well I’ve lived in several different places around London and Kent and had a lot of different Chinese takeaways but this was easily the best. Gorgeous Szechuan Chicken! Thanks will be making this my regular 😁

Staying in the area and ordered for delivery last night, website stated delivery would be 45-60 minutes but it turned up within 25 which was great! The food was absolutely amazing, we had roast chicken Chinese style, chips, curry sauce, chicken chow mein and shredded chilli beef. The prawn crackers were also amazing and not greasy! Will definitely order again when visiting the area!
